This? This is why.

Somedays, I really love fandom.

Twilight fandom raises $10.007.39 for Alex's Lemonade in the first half-day of the drive.

on the agenda

1. play flute/clarinet duets at the Harvey Milk Community Center open house
2. hang out with some awesome ladies
3. clean my room
4. write 12,000 words

I can tell you right now which of those will actually get crossed off my list! Though I did write 1300 words at work today, so at least I'm off to a good(?) start!

In need of some cheering up? Here's what helped me this week:
1. NPH in tiny wings singing about shoes on Sesame Street. Yes, really. Stop looking at me like that!
2. Kitten Mittens
3. Hard Sun. An awesome Firefly/RL video.
4. Reading Ysolda's Knitting Blog

my faith in humanity remains intact, despite a very long day and a pretty crappy afternoon

Tuesday while I was riding my bike to the bank, my phone fell out of my purse. An older gentleman yelled at me, and he actually went out in the street to grab it before a car ran it over. That was really sweet of him to a) notice and yell at me to stop, and b) grab it for me and give it back. Faith in humanity +10!

I worked for a really long time today, which is why I'm cranky. Our volunteer also cancelled at the last minute because she was waiting for PG&E to come investigate a gas leak at her apartment. Not her fault, but that meant I answered the crisis line by myself for 3 hours. Ugh.

Nano is going all right. I'm behind, so I should write tonight, but I don't know if I can work up the motivation. I just want to curl up with my laptop and watch something brainless on TV.

Friday Five--November 6, 2009

This week's questions were suggested by [info]drgilesstuart.

1) Which one is more irritating- being too hot or being too cold?
2) Were you born in the winter or the summer?
3) What are your favourite foods to eat when you need to warm up and cool down?
4) Which one are you more likely to suffer from- hayfever or flu- and does it run in your family?
5) You are granted a day of perfect weather whenever you like. What day do you place it on and why?
